Who in their right mind would get up at 6:30AM and make a 30minute trek to a restaurant destination for Saturday brunch (can I even call it brunch at this point??).
Yeah, that’s right, you’re girl here is mighty tired, but nonetheless satisfied.
What once was a fancy car showroom featuring Wolseley Motors vehicles, designed by William Green, is now a fancy upscale restaurant on Piccadilly, serving modern European cuisine. Reservations were tight so we were only able to grab spots for breakfast. I do recommend booking a few days in advance if you plan on coming.
We started off with their Cafe Latte.
When in London, eat as the British do, no? We had "The English".
Fried eggs with crispy bacon, baked beans, sausage, black pudding, grilled tomato and mushroom. Black pudding is really an acquired taste, which unfortunately I do not enjoy, but the softly cooked mushroom was to my liking.
Their Greek Yoghurt with Granola and Bananas.
Consistently thick yogurt served with a generous heaping portion of granola. I'm quite picky with my morning granola, but their toasted oats are crunchy and nutty (probably one of the best I've ever had), which paired perfectly with the ripe side of bananas. Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this order and how deceivingly filling it was.
The Wolseley breakfast is a classy affair, perfect for those looking for the "English experience". I have yet to try their lunch or dinner menu, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring friends here for another breakky session, though I will be booking a few weeks in advance next tine.
