The only upside to having jet lag is the ability to roll out of bed and catch breakfast with a childhood friend. Arrived at the scene by 8:30AM to ensure we would get a table and thank goodness we made the effort because within 30minutes there was a queue at the door. Note: they don't take reservations so get there bright and early if you want to avoid the line.
Indeed, what a small, retro café it is. Polaroids, notes and postcards pinned on the walls with rainbow fairy lights strung across the room.
Their Cafe Latte.
We had the All American.
Comes with a hearty stack of pancakes, a sausage, home-style fried potato wedges, bacon (that we wish could be fried crispier) and a generous portion of fried eggs. We appreciated the large portions, though the items were all quite standard.
We also had the Home-Made Granola.
Layers of Greek yogurt, granola and raspberry and pear compote served in a cup. Again, we’re satisfied with portion size, but the order was forgettable. Granola could have been toasted for a crunchier texture.
Highlight of this place is really the service with our waitress being extremely polite and accommodating. Food, on the other hand, was more “meh”, seems more like they value quantity over quality (but I guess in a city as expensive as London, that can be viewed as a great thing). Good place to drop by for some quick brunching, but not worth standing in line for in my opinion.
