New year, no new friends. When one person loses her BRP and the other person forgets to book her flight home to London so is forced to catch the Jan 1 flight, the two find themselves celebrating the new year over afternoon tea at sketch.

Started ourselves off with a pot of tea each.

I got the Christmas Chai, which I would highly recommend – lightly spiced black tea that goes down smooth.

We went for their Classic Sketch Afternoon Tea set.

Items on the bottom tier include finger sandwiches such as the coronation chicken, smoked salmon and cream, cucumber and ricotta, Comte cheese panini and eggs with mayonnaise and caviar. Favorite here has to be the egg sandwich so I ordered more when the waitress came for our second round orders since the savory plate is bottomless.

Items for sweet include passion fruit tarlet, citrus and raspberry cake, pistachio choux, cheesecake, chocolate and mint gateau, citrus meringue and Malabar marshmallows. Favorite here was the passion fruit tarlet cause y’all know I’m a sucker for graham cracker crust.

And of course we finished off the afternoon with their freshly baked scones (not featured here) - so fluffy, served with clotted cream, fig jam and strawberry jam.

Overall highlights include the unbelievable design of this place. Though the afternoon tea set itself wasn’t anything extraordinary, everything else about this restaurant was. Of course, if you visit this place you’ve got to make a trip to their famed bathroom and take a mirror selfie with their egg pod toilets. I wandered around for a good 10minutes trying to figure out how to open the egg pod bathroom door before I was shooed to the other side because apparently I was in the men’s toilet area??? #guilty

Never seen anything like this before so I would highly recommend grabbing a meal or tea here just for the experience so you can “wooo” and “ahh” over all their creative (and may I say a little weird?) designs.
