After a week of non-stop worrying about my friend’s visa not processing due to her lost passport, we made a trip to the embassy at 7AM in the morning to ask for a special letter from the government. Apparently these letters are ‘never given out’, but we were lucky enough that the process was smooth and she got the letter printed and signed right away.

We left feeling thankful, excited and most of all relieved, so we decided to celebrate over some much-deserved breakfast.

I had been looking forward to trying this café for a long time now. It’s a minimalistic Japanese coffeehouse on Chiltern Street with plenty of study space and pastries raved by Londoners. They actually specialize in selling travel guides, journalistic magazines and souvenirs (every single thing of which I love).

Their Swedish Cardamom Bun.

Wished the bun could have been more pillowy and doughy. Perhaps it would have been better fresh out of the oven.

Cappuccino and Iced Tea.

Quite liked their coffee actually, while their iced tea was refreshing.

Although I’ve had better pastries, I am in love with the simple interior design of the place. Great spot to study and although the place gets busy, most people have their coffees to-go so the atmosphere remains pretty serene. Be sure to grab the few scarce seats outside if the sun’s out.
